So you have 80 minutes... What T(I)NC tracks do you listen to and in what order?
+ up for sale?

[25 Jul 2006|09:45am]

For those of you not on the tINC mailing list here is the latest communication:

Imagine your nearest airport being bombed. Imagine bridges and roads around you being destroyed. Imagine power plants, electricity, hospitals, government buildings being destroyed and sewers stop functioning. Imagine no water coming from the tap. Imagine no food or medicine or outside humanitarian help being allowed into your country. Imagine a rain of bombs falling over houses, churches and stores so that ten, twenty, fifty civilians are killed every day.

Imagine an army kidnapping half of your government and taking them out of the country. Imagine the same army every night firing sound bombs above your roof so your windows are blow open, nobody can sleep and your kids getting stomach pains from pure stress. Imagine having to pass through military checkpoints every day to get to your job. Imagine being refused to travel outside your country. Imagine a concrete wall, eight meters high, being built around and inside your city. Imagine waking up in the middle of the night and being told that you got five minutes to leave your house because it’s going to be demolished by the army’s bulldozers. Imagine international sanctions because you voted for the “wrong” political party.

This is what everyday life looks like in Lebanon and Palestine right now. This is just some of the ways that the Palestinian and Lebanese people are being collectively punished by the military supreme Israel. The latest weeks we have heard Israeli officials claming that what they are going to do is to “bomb Lebanon 20 years back” and to “make sure that no one in Gaza can sleep”. And this goes on right now, right before our eyes.

What would happen if let’s say Iran or Sweden or Russia invaded or occupied your country? What would the UN, USA or EU say and do? What is it that makes Arab lives – Palestinian and Lebanese – less valuable in the eyes of the world than your life and our lives? Why aren’t we doing anything? The Israeli occupation of Palestine and the attacks on civilians in Lebanon are serious and obvious crimes against international law and human rights.

Our thoughts are with our brothers and sisters in Palestine and Lebanon.

Peace in the Middle East! Justice for Palestine and Lebanon!

AP editor's snarky response to Dennis. [28 Dec 2005|10:40am]

[ mood | giggly ]

I don't know if you guys are signed up for the mailing list through the official site but they sent a newsletter out this morning. I'll just post it here:

"Hey everyone!

This year is almost over, and we would like to thank everyone that has been a part of making it a good one for us. Thanks to all the bands we've played with and to everyone that has been to our shows. We hope you've had a good time, and that we'll see you all next year!

Received on Dec 20, 2005:

Subject: International Boys Conspiracy

Happy holidays, hope you are well.

Please do me a favor and forward this to Dennis Lyxzén. Thank you.

Dennis Lyxzén :

I did not get to personally hear you address the evils of ALTERNATIVE PRESS (and our current cover stars My Chemical Romance) from the stage of the Grog Shop during your recent visit to Cleveland. I hope that you would come back to Cle soon to school me, but it doesn’t look very promising. The fact that well over half of the audience left after the vastly superior Circa Survive played that night doesn’t say much about (STI) NC’s ability to engage an audience. And I’m not sure if you’ve actually heard it, but Armed Love helps your cause like a union of sex workers campaigning for abstinence.

Regarding your attack on “eyeliner bands on the cover of AP,” the day you and your comrades can write a song as stirring as any of MyChem’s singles, you then might be able to foment that social revolution you like to preach about to dullard music journalists. I doubt that will ever happen via your appropriation of historic American rock forms from the late-’60s and ’70s. Hell, the vehicle that launched your career in the first place, Refused, was a distillation of ideas stolen from American underground bands as Nation Of Ulysses and Born Against. You wanna talk shallow? A walk through the ocean of your soul would be similar to being trapped in an hourglass.

I’m sorry J. Bennett didn’t like your album. I’m sorry the thing was such a disappointment in the first place in the ears of many people who bought your previous releases. I’m sorry Sara Almgren left you so you felt that need to put that mewling Lost Patrol dogshit out into the marketplace. On the other hand, everybody wins: You’ve got Rick Rubin on speed dial; I have replacement jewel boxes when your assorted projects hit my desk; and Sara got to spend some time with a guy in a band whose music is actually conducive to mattress thrashing. (I’m sure she had a lot of lost time to make up for.) If you’re the “sexiest man in Sweden,” as voted by the readers of Braille Gazette or whatever, Sara’s got to be in the upper percentile of MENSA members.

Do all of us a favor and take a rest—whether it’s under a communist moon or under the moving wheels of a tanker truck.

Jason Pettigrew
Happy new year!

Am I the only one who finds it funny what this guy is writing about? If I remember correctly, they were kissing Refused's ass earlier this year about how great The Shape Of Punk To Come was (and still is) and now, after Dennis made some rant about the bands they choose to cover in their little magazine, they decide to discredit what he's done and take a couple of cheap shots.

NOVEMBER 21, 2005 -- STRIKE AT CAPITALISM [15 Nov 2005|02:31pm]

Everyday millions of gallons of water polluted with potentially dangerous chemicals that are meant to cleanse our bodies are heinously washed down the drain. These chemicals are more-often-than-not tested purposelessly on animals--a sample of your shampoo was probably injected into the belly of a greyhound or similar beast--and the long term effects of these products on human use has yet to be seen. What has been seen is that many so-called moisturizers actually dry skin out so that consumers become dependent on them. The point is clear: these products are not meant to make us more hygenic rather, but to fill the already bloated wallets of capitalists. STRIKE AT THE CAPITALISTS don't buy or use their hygeine products for a day.

Furthermore, those sisters and brothers who choose to not hold up the hygenic values imposed by greedy capitalists have become ostracized. This day will also SHOW SOLIDARITY WITH THOSE BROTHERS AND SISTERS who have chosen to not bathe to create new patterns of existence or simply because they cannot afford the capitalists' products.

Please distribute this as widely as possible.

Last night gig in Barbados Cafe, Jakarta [19 Aug 2005|09:04am]

Hullo, I'm a new member here.

I watched T(I)NC last night at the Barbados Cafe, Jakarta - part of the Indonesian Noise Conspiracy Tour. It was great and awesome.

I spoke to Inge and Dennis at the hotel but they were in a hurry for a photo session so I couldn't take any picture with them. I did take a picture with Lars, though.

More pictures here - but I have only uploaded some of my collection.

ready steady go! [14 Jul 2005|04:15pm]

[ mood | giddy ]

hey everyone!

im new here.
HUGE t(i)nc fan.
i think i've seen them four or five times now.

anyway i just wanted to post about the two
los angeles shows.
they appear to be completely random.
considering that there's no u.s. tour around this,
just two other festival dates.

the shows are july 26th tuesday at the echo $5
july 27th wendseday at the poison apple $5

i nearly shit my pants when i
found out about this.
the echo is my favorite venue
and so teeny. i bought tickets
already on ticketweb, if you plan
on going i suggest doing the same.
i think tickets for the poison apple
are only sold at the door.

also, as im sure most of you already know,
armed love is finally being relased here
on october 4th and they're starting
to plan a u.s. tour around this date.

im so excited for all of this,
i hardly know what to do with myself.
but yeah, anyone in l.a. now should definitly
come to those shows. i have a feeling they're
going to be the best yet.
